"Arayu" is the source of Yumura Onsen and was discovered in 848. The water comes out at 98 degrees celsius and discharges 470 liters per minute. At the hot water basins it is possible to boil eggs, vegetables and potatoes.
Also, along riverbanks of the Haruki River that flows along the Arayu is the "Fureai Yu" with 3 footbaths. Sit on the benches as you warm your feet and watch the tranquil scenery of the river and Yumura Onsen.
