Kinosaki Onsen in Hyogo prefecture's Toyooka city is a hot spring town with 1300 years of history. This is a course where you can enjoy the townscape and hot spring atmosphere familiar to many writers and artists, including Shiga Naoya.

Recommended Spots of Interest
- 1) Hachigoro Toshima Wetlands
- A single oriental white stork descended on these wetlands preserving them and the memory of the oriental white stork. It is also a registered Ramsar Convention site.
- 2) Higashiyama Park
- A park popular among the residents who come to enjoy the cherry blossoms in spring and autumn leaves in autumn. You can overlook the hot spring town from there.
- 3) Shisho Shrine
- The town's high steward Hiu dedicated the shrine to the Munakata goddesses who are the guardian deities of the waters and Yuyama god of the hot springs.
- 4) Ropeway
- Enjoy the Michelin Green Guide Japon 2-star view from the summit (231m).
- 5) Onsen-ji Temple
- This ancient temple is the guardian temple of Kinosaki Onsen and was founded by the Buddhist priest Douchi Shonin who also founded the hot spring town 1300 years ago.
- 6) Mikiya Ryokan
- A 300 year old ryokan found in the ancient and wonderful hot spring town. Shiga Naoya's "Kinosaki ni te (At Kinosaki)" was born at this ryokan.
