Walk the Town Where Oishi Riku Once Lived
大石りくが暮らしたまちを歩くコース
Toyooka is the hometown of Oishi Riku, the wife of Oishi Kuranosuke who is known as the leader of the Foury-seven Ronin. As you walk through the old castle town where Riku lived, you can see the retro-relief style buildings that have been renovated by a revival architecture group from when the town was destroyed in the Great Hokutan Earthquake. Also, don't forget to stop by Japan's oldest wooden public market for something to eat.
